I just heard it on the news a few minutes ago: pieces of Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium will be going up for sale.  Do you see a publicity opportunity here?

Both Yankee and Shea Stadiums will be closing at the end of this season, to be replaced by new stadiums next year.  So, pieces of the old stadiums are going up for sale for as little as $5.00.

But don’t get all wound up thinking of instant wealth sitting in your lap.

When I sold pieces of the Brooklyn Bridge in 1983, it was a very different story.  The idea of the Brooklyn Bridge being bought and sold became a century-old standing joke.  For 100 years, people around the world said things like: “If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.”

Con artists actually “sold” the bridge to  gullible tourists.  So the whole idea of selling the Brooklyn Bridge had a long history attached to it before I actually became the first person to legitimately sell it.

After I created the Brooklyn Bridge certificate, I created a whole series of “Pieces of History”, including a certificate with a piece of the original Yankee Stadium – not the renovated Stadium, which is what is being sold now.  There’s a huge difference.

Plus, the sale of pieces of the current stadiums will be getting a lot of media coverage, so people all around the world will be able to buy their own piece directly.

So, don’t cash in your retirement accounts to buy piles of the stadiums, but you still have some very interesting publicity opportunities attached to these two stadiums and the pieces for sale.

I’ll keep an eye on the story and let you know more about things as they develop.

For now, think of how you can take advantage of this opportunity.

I have a buddy that has baseball & etc collectibles shop, I mentioned this to him he hadn’t heard about it.

He’s going to buy up some stuff then give it away to the person who writes the best story about their memories in the stadiums, best play, best game etc..

And of course, were going to send it into the media to drive traffic to his store
