The Academy Awards are coming up this Sunday.

Or you could discuss the strange accounting practices used by the movie industry to keep its profits to itself:

WHY EVEN THE MOST SUCCESSFUL MOVIES TAKE A “LOSS”

Or you could remind people that whoever wins on the night, the big winner is always the star’s accountant:

ACCOUNTANCY FIRMS BIG WINNER ON OSCAR NIGHT

Want one more? OK, let’s say you sell insurance. Here are some ideas for you:

When the Oscars happen, the press is going to be filled with pictures of beaming celebrities showing off their million dollar dresses and expensive jewelry. Those people
are walking insurance policies.

If you think of the Oscars as an insurance show for top-end insurance products, you’ll start to see the publicity opportunities.

You could issue a press release with the headline:

WHY INSURANCE COMPANIES HATE THE OSCARS

Or:

WHAT TOP DESIGNERS PAY TO SHOW THEIR PRODUCTS AT THE OSCARS

Or:

WHY STARS HAVE GOOD REASON TO BE AFRAID WHEN THEY DRESS UP FOR THE AWARDS
